Tonisha Tagoe founded the Ladies Entrepreneurship Club (LEC) for one reason: she wanted the women building businesses around her to stop operating in isolation. That idea, born in London, has become an international founder community that connects, educates and amplifies women entrepreneurs across Africa and the diaspora.
Built from the front of the room
While many founders build behind a screen, Tonisha built LEC from the front of the room. She hosts and curates Meet the Founders, the flagship LEC TV series that has run for more than 60 episodes and appearances. The conversations are not interviews for interview’s sake — each one is a masterclass in scaling a business, building a brand and leading through uncertainty. Founders like Cherel Gyamfi, Latifa Adekanla, Akila Africa and Arlene M. Holman have sat with her to unpack how they built, failed, rebuilt and grew.
From country casting to global broadcast
Tonisha runs SoFE — Sisters of Founder Excellence — end-to-end, from country casting to the global broadcast. She is not only the face of the brand; she is the operational backbone: finding founders, producing content, building partnerships and making sure the community has the tools it needs to move faster.
Under her leadership, LEC has become more than content. It is a membership platform, an events engine, a bootcamp series and a catalogue for female-founded businesses. The catalogue gives members a shop window. The bootcamps give them the tools. The TV show gives them the stage. The membership ties it all together.

On the journey
The next chapter for Tonisha is scale. More founders. More markets. More ways for women to find capital, customers and community in one place. LEC is already the infrastructure; the work now is to keep deepening it — more episodes, more programmes, more founders featured and celebrated.
