About This Event
Insurance is one of the most overlooked yet critical pillars of business resilience, and this Deep Dive session brought it front and centre for LEC members.
The session was designed to demystify insurance for women entrepreneurs who had been avoiding it — whether due to perceived complexity, cost, or simply not knowing where to start. Attendees walked through the essential types of business insurance every founder should consider: professional indemnity, public liability, business interruption cover, and key person insurance.
What made this session particularly valuable was the practical framework shared. Members received a simple checklist for auditing their current coverage gaps and a decision matrix for prioritising which policies to invest in first, based on their specific industry and business stage. Several attendees discovered they were significantly underinsured in areas they had not previously considered material.
The peer discussion segment was especially rich, with members sharing real experiences of claims — both successful and unsuccessful — giving everyone a clearer picture of what insurance actually delivers when you need it most. One member shared how a business interruption policy saved her company during an unexpected office closure, while another discussed navigating a professional indemnity claim after a client dispute.
By the end of the session, every attendee had at least one concrete action item for improving their business protection.
